Q. Why can’t I order Florida Gift Fruit from June to October?
A.  Citrus is seasonal. To get a full view of the fruit season, click on the fruit season in the “citrus varieties” section. The times displayed are when that it is ripe and ready for picking.

Q.   If there is a green tinge to the skin of my fruit is that piece affected by the "Citrus Greening" disease that I have heard about?
No. The symptoms of citrus greening include a blotchy mottle and leaf yellowing that spreads throughout the entire tree.  Fruit become sparse, small, abnormal in appearance and fail to color properly, thus the name greening.  We are able to detect when fruit has been infected. We do not ship fruit that has been affected by “Citrus Greening”.

Q.  Why does some fruit have a green tinge to it?
A.  Early in the season you may find that citrus is a little green around the edges. Or you might see a few blemishes common to citrus grown in Florida. These are common defects found in Florida citrus and does not affect the taste.

Q.  What is Citrus Canker?
A-  Citrus Canker is a fruit disease affecting citrus species that is caused by the bacterium Xanthomonas axonopodis. Infection causes unsightly lesions on the leaves, stems, and fruit of citrus trees, including lime, oranges, and grapefruit. While not harmful to humans, canker significantly affects the vitality of citrus trees, causing leaves and fruit to drop prematurely; in fact, a fruit infected with canker is safe to eat but too unsightly to be sold.

Q.  Is Canker harmful to humans?
A.  Absolutely not. Citrus canker is not harmful humans, animals or plant life other than citrus.

Any state or local sales tax will be paid by Florida Gift Fruit Shipping, LLC and are not the responsibility of the customer. Any promotions or coupons can be applied on internet orders by entering a valid, non-expired code in the box provided at checkout. For phone orders, be sure to mention the promotional code or coupon that you wish to apply to your order.
